FC Vaslui obtained a deserved qualification, after a good game performed at a temperature of 37 degrees, and with a little more attention could obtain even victory in Cyprus. Omonia started the match offensive, but failed to create too much danger at the post of Kuciak in the first minutes. Aloneftis shot from volley, much over the post (8), then Vaslui had two shots beside the target: Temwanjera (9), from 16 meters, and William Gerlem (10). Konstantinou had two good opportunities (14, 16), but each time he shot weak from the box of Vaslui and Kuciak saved. The guests had another action at the post of Kotsolis, but Pavlovic headed beside the post (22), after a corner kick. The match became pretty boring then, entering into a routine of sterile game of the hosts and a pretty good defense of the team trained by Cristian Dulca. To the final of first half, Omonia had a good opportunity, but Kuciak (41) managed to save the header of Konstantinou. After the break, Omonia started to press the guests and had a few good opportunities at the post of Kuciak: a volley of Aguiar (47), beside the target, and two headers of Konstantinou, 48 - beside the post, 57 - caught by Slovakian goalkeeper of FC Vaslui. In 60th minute, Romanian team managed to open the score from a 20 meters free kick: Ghencev set the ball, but Wesley shot excellent with the left foot, the ball hit the bar and then entered into the net: 0-1. Omonia felt the shock and followed a few minutes in which the hosts didn't know what to do. They had another good opportunity in 68th minute, when goalkeeper Kuciak rejected with the foot the shot of Zurawski. Seven minutes later, Charalambous resumed from the box but Vaslui was saved by the bar. Jovanović was close to solve the match in 79th minute, but he shot beside the post. Then it was the turn of Efrem to miss, at a distraction of Vaslui's defense, but his shot was parallel with the post (81). Kuciak rejected the ball wrong, then he fouled Konstantinou in the box, in 83rd minute, so the referee showed the point from 11 meters. Zurawski turned into goal the penalty kick and the score became 1-1. In 88th minute, the game was interrupted, the spectators throwing objects into the field, but the referee eliminated goalkeeper Kuciak because he threw back with such an object. Romanian team already made all the three substitutions, so Ghencev became goalkeeper. The six minutes of additional time were dramatic, but FC Vaslui managed to resist, pushing Omonia away of own box. The draw for Europa League's play-off, the final preliminary round before group stage, will take place at Nyon, on Friday.
