History:
It was one of the famous pre-WWII clubs of Romania, always among the first in championship.
The team was set up on a ground behind the present Ion MIHALACHE market (former Filantropia/1 Mai) and the main area of fans was in downtown Bucharest, the districts of Splai, Plevnei, Grivița, Buzești and Matache.
In the last glamorous pre-WWII period of the club, president and sponsor of the team was at some time general Gabriel MARINESCU, chief-commissioner of Bucharest Police (1930-1939), member of royal camarilla. A famous public character around Venus was Nicolae THEODORU alias Chibrit (match stick), a leader of fans.
In Romanian Cup, it lost another 5 semi-finals with Rapid" București a real and famous psychological complex of the age (1936-1937, 1937-1938, 1938-1939, 1940-1941, 1941-1942).
In 1937, 1939 and 1940 it played in Mitropa Cup (forerunner of nowadays Champions' League), but always eliminated in the the 1st match.
In 1946-1947 it plays in Divizia B.
Famous coaches: 1937, Platko (Austria) and 1938, Janossy (Hungary).
In 1948, due to Communist regime norms (that stated that all sport associations had to join a form of trade-union, or a governmental institution), the team merges with UCB (Uzinele Comunale București - Administration of Sewerage Systems) and in 1949 is affiliated to Institutul de Cercetări și Amenajări Silvice (ICAS) - (The Institute for Research and Forest Arrangements).
In 1948-1949 Venus plays in Divizia C, but in February 1949 this division is closed, one of the official reasons being useless absence of players from work before weekends. The teams returned in county championships, some of them promoted in Divizia B, but Venus dissapeared.
